The price isn't for the coating alone. By the time the ceramic goes on, your car has already gone through a full decontamination wash, clay bar treatment, Stage 1 machine polish, interior deep clean, leather conditioning, and wheel care. The coating is the last step — the protection layer on top of an already-restored surface.
Applying ceramic coating to a car that hasn't been properly prepared is one of the most common mistakes in this industry. You'd be sealing in contamination, water marks, and micro-scratches under a semi-permanent layer. The preparation is the majority of the work. The coating is the seal.

Singapore sits close to the equator. High UV exposure, year-round humidity and rainfall that can carry dissolved pollutants create conditions that are genuinely challenging for unprotected car paint maintenance.
What this means in practice: the conditions your car experiences — outdoor parking, wash habits and usage frequency — affect how long any protection will realistically last, regardless of its manufacturer rating. We say this not to undersell the product — but because you deserve to know what you're actually buying. Manufacturer-rated duration is an estimate based on the manufacturer's stated conditions. Real-world performance varies with preparation, exposure, washing and maintenance.

The answer depends on how your car lives, not just what it's worth. Here's how we think about it:
Worth it — clearly
- Daily driver, parked outdoors, Singapore sun all day
- Dark coloured car (heat absorption accelerates oxidation)
- Car you intend to hold for 3+ years
- You want washing to take half the time
- New car you want to protect from day one
Think carefully first
- Garaged car, rarely driven, stays out of sun
- Planning to sell within 12 months
- Car already has heavy paint damage needing Stage 2 correction (that's a separate conversation)
- You're buying it purely for resale value — buyer may not care
When we'd tell you to spend less: if your car lives in a covered carpark most of the day and only does weekend drives, a longer-rated coating may not deliver its full manufacturer-rated value in your situation. What drives price differences between studios.
You'll find ceramic coating in Singapore priced anywhere from $250 to $2,500. The range reflects more than brand — it reflects what you're actually receiving.
At the lower end ($250–$500)
Typically a coating-only service with minimal or no paint preparation. The coating bonds to an unpolished surface — you're protecting whatever condition the paint is in, which limits both appearance and adhesion. These services are fast because they skip the work.
In the mid-range ($600–$1,000)
This is where most reputable Singapore detailing studios sit for a basic ceramic package. You should expect a wash, decontamination, and at least Stage 1 polish before coating. This is also the Signature Protection range. Ask exactly what's included — "ceramic package" can mean different things at different studios.
At the higher end ($1,200–$2,500+)
Usually involves multi-stage paint correction (Stage 2 or beyond), premium-grade coatings with longer manufacturer-rated durations, and more labour time. This range makes sense for prestige vehicles, significant paint damage, or owners who want maximum correction before protection. Advanced Protection sits in this range — the full correction and care work that justifies the price, plus additional protected surfaces where appropriate to the vehicle.
The real cost of not coating.
Unprotected paint in Singapore oxidises and fades faster than you'd expect. Swirl marks from improper washing accumulate. Clear coat degrades. By the time most owners notice, the paint is in a state that needs Stage 2 correction — which costs more and removes more clear coat thickness than a straightforward coating job would have.
A ceramic coating is not just about gloss. It's about reducing the rate of degradation in an environment specifically hostile to car paint. The cost of correcting neglected paint is almost always higher than the cost of protecting it.
